Meet Victoria King Erb, Speech Therapist Serving Upland and the Inland Empire
King Speech Therapy Services was built on a simple belief: every child deserves to be heard, and every parent deserves to feel confident helping them get there. Founded in May 2020 by Victoria King Erb, M.S., CCC-SLP, this pediatric speech therapy practice has grown from home-based consultations into a dedicated clinic in Upland, CA. Victoria King Erb, speech therapist and certified speech language pathologist, brings clinical depth, specialized training, and a coach-like energy to every child and family she works with across the Inland Empire.
Our Story
From the Community Up: How King Speech Therapy Services Took Root in the IE
Before opening her clinic, Victoria spent six years working in school-based settings, where she saw firsthand how much families needed a partner, not just a provider. She recognized that while children received support at school, parents often needed more guidance and practical tools to help their children communicate confidently at home. That realization became the foundation for King Speech Therapy Services.
When the pandemic arrived in 2020, Victoria launched the practice by meeting families where they were, literally. She began seeing children in their homes, building trust and rapport in the spaces where real communication happens: around the dinner table, while playing in the backyard, and during everyday family routines. That community-centered origin story continues to shape how the clinic operates today.
Now serving families across Upland, Rancho Cucamonga, Ontario, Fontana, Claremont, Victorville, and Apple Valley, King Speech Therapy Services has grown into a recognized name in pediatric speech therapy across the Inland Empire and High Desert. The clinic works with children from 18 months to 17 years old, while caregiver classes begin as early as 12 months.

Meet the Clinician
A Certified Speech Language Pathologist in Upland Who Leads Like a Coach
Victoria King Erb holds both her Bachelor's and Master's degrees in Communication Sciences and Disorders from the University of Redlands. She is a licensed and certified speech-language pathologist and a member of the Apraxia Kids SLP Directory. Her specialized training includes Hanen certification in the It Takes Two to Talk program, the SOS Approach to Feeding, Dynamic Temporal and Tactile Cueing (DTTC) for Childhood Apraxia of Speech, and the Feed the Peds methodology for pediatric feeding therapy.
What sets Victoria apart is not just her credentials; it is her philosophy. Drawing from her competitive softball background, she approaches therapy the way a coach approaches practice. She believes children grow most when they feel safe enough to try hard things and when failure is treated as part of the process rather than a setback. Her goal is not just to improve a child's articulation or expand their vocabulary. It is to change how they see themselves, building the confidence to speak up, ask questions, and engage with the world around them.
That coaching mindset extends to parents and caregivers, too. Victoria and her team take time after every session to debrief with families, sharing practical strategies they can use throughout the week. Although a therapy session can go by quickly, a child's day at home lasts much longer, and that is where meaningful progress continues. By empowering families with the tools and confidence to support their child's communication beyond the therapy room, Victoria helps make progress part of everyday life.
Common Questions
What Families Ask Before Getting Started
What qualifications does our team hold?
Our team consists of licensed speech-language pathologists (SLPs) and licensed speech-language pathology assistants (SLPAs) that range in a variety of specializations and trainings including: Hanen It Takes Two to Talk, the SOS Approach to Feeding, AEIOU - An Integrated Approach to Pediatric Feeding, Dynamic Temporal and Tactile Cueing (DTTC), and Feed the Peds.
What ages does the clinic work with?
The clinic provides therapy services for children from 18 months through 17 years of age. Caregiver and child group classes, such as the Talk, Play, and Grow program, begin at 12 months. Whether your child is an emerging communicator just starting to babble or a school-aged child working on fluency and social communication, the clinic has services designed to meet them where they are.How does private pediatric speech therapy differ from school-based services?
School-based speech therapy is often limited to goals that directly affect academic performance, and parents may have little visibility into what happens during sessions. King Speech Therapy Services was founded specifically to fill that gap. Every session includes time to debrief with parents and share strategies to use at home. Care plans are built around each family's real-life routines and preferences, not just standardized benchmarks, so therapy extends well beyond the clinic walls.Does King Speech Therapy Services accept insurance?
Yes. The clinic is in-network with several PPO plans, including Cigna, Blue Shield, Anthem, HealthNet, and Aetna. For families whose plans are out of network, the clinic provides Superbills that you can submit to your insurance company for potential reimbursement. A prompt pay rate option is also available. It is a good idea to contact your insurance provider directly to understand your specific benefits before your first appointment.Which communities in the Inland Empire does the clinic serve?
King Speech Therapy Services is based in Upland, CA, and serves families across the Inland Empire, including High Desert, Rancho Cucamonga, Ontario, Fontana, Claremont, Victorville, and Apple Valley. Clinic-based services are provided at the Upland office, and teletherapy is available for families who prefer a remote option or live farther away.
What is the It Takes Two to Talk program, and who is it designed for?
It Takes Two to Talk is a Hanen-certified parent coaching program for children between 12 months and 4 years old who have language delays. Rather than working with the child directly, the program trains parents to become their child's primary language facilitators. It includes interactive group sessions and video feedback so parents can observe their own interactions and learn practical strategies. Victoria King Erb is a Hanen-certified clinician and runs It Takes Two to Talk programs twice a year.
How does the clinic approach feeding therapy for children with picky eating or sensory aversions?
Feeding therapy at King Speech Therapy Services draws on the SOS Approach to Feeding and the AEIOU Framework methodology, both evidence-based frameworks for children with limited food variety, sensory aversions, or difficulty chewing and swallowing. The goal is to create positive mealtime experiences and support safe transitions to age-appropriate foods, rather than pressuring children to eat. Feeding therapy is a specialty that can be difficult to find in the Inland Empire, and it is one of the clinic's identified areas of focus.
Can parents get help understanding or navigating the IEP process?
Yes. The clinic offers IEP consultation and support services for families who feel overwhelmed by the Individualized Education Plan process. Victoria's six years in school-based settings gave her a thorough understanding of how these systems work, including Free and Appropriate Public Education (FAPE) requirements. The goal is to give parents the knowledge and confidence to advocate effectively for their child, whether they are attending their first IEP meeting or reviewing an existing plan.
